Buckley Air Force Base, located in Aurora, Colorado, is home to the 460th Space Wing and provides support to 38 Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve units from all branches of the service. Buckley AFB is a short distance from Denver and prime Rocky Mountain ski resorts. The 460th Services Division is head quartered in Building 347 and provides a wide range of morale, welfare, and recreational activities.

Fitness & Sports

20 November - Turkey Trot: Open to all valid ID card holders 18+. 5K run/walk starts at the south west corner of Stemboat Ave. and Teeluride St at 1100. First place finishers in the following age groups wins a turkey: 18*22, 23-35, 36-45. For more information contact the Fitness Center at 720-847-6679.

25 November through 23 December-Holiday Fitness Challenge: Open to all valid ID card holders 18+. Participate each day you visit the Fitness Center. Pick one ornament from the holiday tree, complete the challenge written on the ornament during your visit that day, then drop the ornament in the holiday bucket for weekly drawings each Tuesday. The bucket is cleared of ornaments after each drawing, and the challenges get tougher each week. For more information contact the Fitness Center at 720-847-6679.

10 December-Ultimate Dodgeball: Open to all valid ID card holders 18+. Tournament starts 1000 in the Fitness Center. Teams must be orgnizational/unit specific with a minimum 6 players and a maximum of 8 players. Maximum 2 teams per organization/umit. Games will be best of five. Sign up by COB 8 December. Ski Trips:
Are you dreading winter driving? Don't have a car? D0 you want to get a few extra hours of sleep before heading up into the mountains for a day of skiing? Or maybe you just want to enjoy a hassle free rid to the slopes. If this sounds like you then contact Outdoor Recreation (ODR) to get a full day on the mountain. All ski trips depart from ODR (Bldg 1022) at 0700 and return between 1700-1900. Prices for transportation only, equipment extrad. For more information call 720-847-6100/6101.

Snow ShoeingTrips:
29 November & 30 December.Location depends on SNOW. Activity fee is $15, includes snowshoe rental. Rental is on a first come first serve basis. For more information call 720-847-6100/6101.

Classroom:
17 December - Ski Maintenance Workshop: Activity fee is $10, an intro/hands on class intructing the basics of ski mainenance, and how to keep them in good condition for the winter.
